A.H. Ady and
DC Aotrou Mac Eochaidh
The purpose of this web page is to provide some of the information to the folks interested in the early days of the ABC. The information posted may be available other places, but in case any of it is not, you can get it here. This information is from the personal archives of Al Ady. I want to thank Mr. Ady's son for sharing the information with us.
Mr. Ady was the first President of the American Brittany Club, and (from what I can determine) served in this position for 5 years (1942 through 1946). In 1947 he requested a successor be named to replace him as President. He then continued to serve the ABC as 3rd VP in charge of regional clubs and special committees. He kept busy with the people starting new regional clubs or helping established localized clubs to become regional clubs affiliated with the ABC.
This web page is in the process of being updated with pictures and information. In the future look for some of the letters between Mr. Ady and people like Alan Stuyvesant, Dr. Chester Keogh, Hilmer Peterson, among others. Much of the correspondence was written between friends of like interest with differing opinions, much like the brittany-L list and the dualbrittanys Yahoo groups today. These men were passionate about their Brittanys, and establishing the breed in the United States and Canada.
